As a designer, I had an interesting relationship with the client. I was also a student there for about 10 years. As such, I had a pretty intimate and in-depth knowledge of the school. I wanted to convey the elegance and stability that the school was known for as well as make a nod to the origins of the school, the South Korean martial art, Soo Bahk Do. In this style of martial arts, there are no black belts (black signifying death) but rather midnight blue belts that show maturity with room to grow. Also, a red strip is added to the center of a midnight blue belt to indicate a level of mastery.
